Asian Shop

by Tallchick80

Hello! I am looking for something very peculiar in Toulouse. I am looking for an asian shop that sells sake cups that have rude pictures in the bottom. I know this sounds strange, but the amusement factor of these cups is enough to warrant a search to buy some! I first experienced these cups at a restaurant in Agen a few days ago and was told they were very common and also that they could be purchased in a large city like Toulouse. These cups have blurred pictures at the bottom that only become focused when there is liquid in the cup. After it clears up, you will most likely be looking at a photo of a naked person. Believe me, it's shocking AND hilarious, which makes them absolutely spectacular.

So, if any of you know where to buy these cups or even if you can suggest a place you think might have them I would greatly appreciate it! Your help could provide me and my friends hours of drunken and enjoyable entertainment.

I am looking for those sake cups as well. IF you do get any leads. They are great and shocking. My parents and I got them in a resterant in France and we had a great time when we discovered them. Please share with me.
Thanks,

The column of April 10

by Klod5

This column commemorates the battle of Toulouse that took place April 10, 1814 (day of Easter), between the army of Spain of Soult (35 000 men), and the one of Wellington.

This last arrived on Toulouse March 26, strong of 50 000 men, English, Spaniards and Portuguese.
Soult had the opportunity time and again to crush the English advance, but the coldness with which the city had welcomed it, seem to have weighed on his decision not to persist in defending it, and to retire on Carcassonne. Also the battle of Toulouse is it discerned, soon like a victory of Soult (since it could clear his army without having felt serious losses), soon like a defeat (since it abandoned Toulouse).

La basilique St.-Sernin

by Klod5

It is the biggest, and probably the most beautiful of the even standing Romance churches in the world.
The foundations of the present basilica were executed toward 844 when an abbey was established to watch over the saint's relics. The Counts of Toulouse, the bishops and people belonging there to the big families were also buried.

the heart of the city

by Jonathan_C

The Place du Capitole is the heart of Toulouse. You will find yourself crossing this beautiful square multiple times as all the streets in the center city lead here. The square is always busy with markets, tourists, students and locals passing through or just hanging out. To enjoy the passing parade in luxury you should treat youself to a nice dinner at one of the restaurants opposite this building. Here you can pass most of an evening outside enjoying fantastic food and wine while observing the lives of Toulousians out on the town.
