Agde

What is the best way to get from Toulouse airport to Agde?

RE: RE: Agde

by beejay999

The best bet is by train from Toulouse to Agde. Changing at Beziers or Narbonne. Journey time about 2 hours. Approx cost 24/27 euros return.

There is a regular coach (navette) from the airport into Toulouse. You can get the times and cost from one of the French railway websites.

I would have said get the train.

You will need to be careful with the times - what time do you arrive in Toulouse?

After say 6pm the trains are less frequent - during the day there are plenty so even if your flight is delayed you can always get the next one.

See www.sncf.com for train times.

Travel Tips for Toulouse

The Capitole of Toulouse

by Klod5

The township didn't change a site since the Capitouls, in October 1190, buy a land at this place.
The alternation of the brick of terracotta and the stone gives to the Capitol its inimitable seal.
This type of decoration is not without recalling the Byzantine monuments, and is spilled very in Toulouse In the court Henry IV you can see, to the over of the portal, the king's only statue, achieved of his living. To soil, a plate commemorates the decapitation of Simon of Montfort.
Go up to the first floor, admire while passing the big painting that illustrates the first ceremony of the "Academie des Jeux Floraux". Go discover the Salle des Illustres, that looks so much like the Gallery Farnese, in Rome.

many details to spend a rich afternoon sitting on some
coffe-bar, enjoying the life.....Oh!!this is a paceful
place named MIREPOIX, not far from the motorway between Toulouse and Carcassonne.

Pierre Mesa Restaurant Comte...

by ChrsStrl

Pierre Mesa Restaurant Comte Roger at 14 rue St Louis in La Cite as the old town of Carcassonne is called. (Tel: 04 68 11 93 40)
A light, modern, restaurant where both decor & food are tasteful. Light chairs at finely dressed tables and a good selection of fixed price menus. I began with duck foie gras, which was beautifully served on a rectangular glass platter - the look complementing the excellent taste of the food. M had a giant ravioli of young vegetables and crab. We followed with nicely cooked fish. A good cheese board follows, with a selection of both regional & national cheeses, but it is the dessert that is to die for! We both chose to pay a supplement and had the dark chocolate which is baked crustily on the outside but oozes melting warm chocolate from the inside. Served with a small heap of fresh seasonal fruits - in our case berries - to round it off and cut the edge of the sweetness. 106.80€.

Les Jacobins church

by rwlittle

This church was built from the 1200s through the 1400s, and was used as a convent for Dominicans to help combat religious dissent in the region. The bell tower has no spire, which apparently is much imitated in the region. The vaulted ceilings are in the palm style, as can be seen in the photo.
