Hi all fellow travellers! I am arriving in Toulouse on Sat 5th Feb and need accommodation for the 1 night, to catch my flight to Lisboa at 10am Sunday. I have been backpacking through Portugal and France but now have a few more bags to carry so I need to be close to the airport or the shuttle. I am quite happy with backpackers hostels as long as they are clean...any recommendations please?!
Thanks so much...happy days
L'Hôtel Albert 1er (Hotel Albert 1) is in the center of Toulouse and very nice. It may be a bit more than you want to pay; starts at 55 euros for a single.

or book on http://www.booking.com
If you find a hotel with a shuttle, check to be sure they run on weekends. Many do not. BTW, there is excellent bus service from central Toulouse to the airport.
Enjoy your stay.
I have used that airport shuttle, it is good, but that was a weekday evening. Sundays can get dicey in France for services, although surely they still get people out to the airport. Do check on it though. Better maybe to be near the airport but usually - however not always - the more expensive places are near the airport. Do a search on Toulouse airport hotels...good luck! As for Toulouse itself, it is a big university town, so maybe there are hostels???
This here is in my mind the best as it is not far

Not sure if they have their own shuttle but you can ask them. Most of the time there are busses collecting people from all airport hotels to the airport.
There is an IBIS hotel at the airport. Rooms cost around 70 Euros but you would save the cost and time of a transfer from the city centre.
Be aware that the airport bus from the bus station in city centre Toulouse (it's next to the railway station) has a first journey at 0500 (Sundays included) and costs just 5 Euros. it stops elsewhere in the city - shown on the map at the page below.

On the embankments of the Garonne, the toulousains takes advantage of the precocious retrour of the beautiful days (more than 20 degrees yesterday) to take the sun and to feed the ducks.
The heat flooded the embankments of the Garonne. Whereas there is it some days, the embankments of the Daurade drank the cup, there they are welcoming the light holdings in full winter. To believe that the spring is not far, and in addition, it is going to last, because Weather report France foresees good weather until the end of the week. This is how the good habits toulousians is going to be able to last. Yesterday in the afternoon, the thermometer displayed a temperature passing the 20 degrees in the terraces of coffees, where luckiest could meet. Others took the time to give to eat to the ducks who wanted, them also to take advantage of the sun while coming out of water.
One to contain clothes for all sorts of weather! Warm in June, can get hot, but can turn to rain and can be windy. None needed especially, you can buy what you need there unless it is something very special. Good camera with wide angle and telephoto facilities. Good shoes, comfortable on the feet, for walking the stones of La Cite
The C line is in a way the RER toulousain. It is a line of trains, special, to elevated cadence, that joins Toulouse in Colomiers.
The oars are very modern, accessible to the handicapped people, and put about fifteen minutes to make the course.
Musee des Augustins is a gothic structure built around two old cloisters from a priory, one of them enclosing a parterre : a pretty tapestry of herbs, vegtables and fragrant trees. The place has a strange layout, like a magic palace: big heavy wooden doors that suddenly open onto vast halls of gothic sculpture - or open onto nothing at all!
The paintings and sculpture date from the middle ages to the early 20th century, but with a particularly fine collection of romanesque sculpture and gothic sculpture..
Some of the painters whose work is on display : Rubens, Van Dyck, Delacroix, Ingres, Corot, Courbet.
One of the best and cheapest museums in Toulouse... and great fun!
