B&B: Great overnight Stay in Calais

In the same area as the Kyriad and the F1 is the B&B. We have just spent our 2nd stay there costing 44 Euros for a double room with ensuite bathroom (Shower room) and breakfast! The receptionist is extremely friendly, speaks fairly good English. Rooms are basic but if all you want is to rest your head for a night it's worth it! No tea/coffee making services in the rooms, so we took our own kettle and an adaptor. Breakfast is an all you can eat buffet, which is well worth the extra 5 euros (this is included in our total of 44 Euros

Unique Quality: Conveniently located, near to the Auchan, bus stop to Calais town centre nearby. Great price for an overnight stay or even a weekend would be good! The receptionist is extremely friendly and makes your visit well worth while! He has been a bundle of laughs every time we have stayed there,

Hotel le George V: Hotel le George V

Excellent 3 star hotel in the dead middle of the centre of Calais along the main street. About 40 rooms. The normal double rooms are a friendly € 69 per night. And breakfast is € 8 per person.
I stayed here in May 2004.

Unique Quality: Free parking behind the hotel. The hotel has 3 floors, the elevator goes to the 2nd. I think most rooms are still not non-smoking. Breakfast is excellent for French tradition. There's a buffet with fresh bread, boiled eggs, yoghurt and fruits and juices. There's also tea making facilities in the room and extra pillows if you don't like the French pillow roll (which I don't!). The bathroom (bath and shower) is modern and clean. I particularly appreciated the helpful and friendly staff, and the fact that everything in town is walkable, including the train station. Calais is used to visitors from UK, and it shows in the hotels. The hotel, like the town and surroundings is not really 'typically' French to which I'm used. But if you have a choice between the Holiday Inn (double the price of the George V), then choose the latter anytime!
It was perfectly OK to leave the car in the hotel parking for the day, after checking out.
