Great French Bistro
by sue_stone about La Houblonniere
We had a fabulous dinner at La Houblonniere.
It is a centrally located Bistro, in Lille's main square, Place General de Gaulle.
There is seating out in the square, and two levels of seating inside. When we arrived the weather was looking ominous, so we chose to sit inside the cosy restaurant.
Service was friendly and food tasty. We had Steak Frites and also a local specialty - a kind of beef stew - delicious!
Also managed to squeeze in an excellent Creme Brulee.
And all washed down with a tasty Bordeaux!!

La Vieille Bourse
by Mahieu
La Vieille Bourse ( the old Stock Exchange) was built in the 17th century and is a great example of the Flemish Renaissance Style. The building is divided into 24 small commercial houses around a courtyard. You can have a look at the booksellors in the courtyard every afternoon. ( see shopping tip)
The Ski Boot
by dejavu2gb
Christian de Portzamparc was the architecht of this very modern new landmark of Lille.
The L-Shaped Credit Lyonnais Tower, better known as the -ski boot-, perches above the Eurostar station, so its easy to find as you step off Eurostar.
