Excellent, convenient, close to Eurostar station

Stayed over on a reunion of some old friends. 5 of us had 3 rooms - the Eurostar fare from London and the room cost £99 each which was great value we thought. We'd definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are great - big, with microwaves, separate toilet and shower/bath, big double bed, extra single bed. Breakfast is interesting - lots of little things to choose from - and there are also some microwaveable meals and salads on sale. There's a table in the room you could eat at (though we ate out)

Unique Quality: Friendly staff, free hot drinks, big room, handy for the Eurostar station.

More about Suitehotel Lille Europe

Great hotel in a great location

by TripAdvisor Member rob28781

I booked a short 4 day trip for my finance and myself to Lille as we'd heard some good reviews from a lot of people. We booked through Eurostar as we found this the cheapest way (and it was a nice way to travel!).

We chose the SuiteHotel Lille Europe just from the reviews on tripadvisor and a quick look on the website. The hotel is literally across the street, (which is absolutely ideal if traveling by Eurostar), from the main train station.

The hotel itself was very colorful, clean, tidy and had some very good features. Check-in was very easy and the reception staff were willing to help and all costs. The room itself was very unexpected! We was expecting a basic city hotel with bed, shower and toilet. But, this is where the hotel excelled.
The bathroom was very clean, with new fittings with a big bath and separate shower. There was a small area for food which had a kettle, fridge & microwave (very handy!). The bed was comfortable and a decent size. Best feature was the in room tv. The tv channels themselves wasn't very good, but there was plenty of new free films to watch after a busy day's shop! You can access the internet through the tv. Even more ideal was the tv was on wheels and could be moved all round the bedroom. Easily amused you could say!

All in all, Lille was good, not great, but i would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Lille. The other hotels in the main Square (10-15 mins walk) didn't look like they had a patch on this one.

SuiteHotel Cest Fantastique!

by TripAdvisor Member Matt992264OP

This is up there with the best! The hotel is situated right opposite the Eurostar station. On arrival we were met by a charming guy on reception who greeted us with a smile and made us feel very welcome. We arrived on the early Eurostar, so asked if we could leave our bags until check-in. This we did. The guy on reception then produced a local guide and map and highlighted various areas of interest.

After a morning of exploration, we checked in to our suite which was simly brilliant. The room was cleverly designed around a central 'pod' which comprised cloakroom, mini kitchen with mini fridge, microwave, sink, kettle and a tray of tea and coffee, bathroom with full size deep bath with shower, ergonomic sink and walk-in shower/wet room. Clever storage space and a room safe are tucked behind the fascade of the 'pod'.

The room layout is really clever, with a double bed, (pull-out single underneath) and another single bed/chaise on casters. The room can be divided with sliding partitions and the flat screen TV/PC can be wheeled around the room and positioned wherever required.

Our TV movies, internet access, phone calls (within France) and use of the fitness suite and library were all included within the room rate, which I thought really added value to what was already a fantastic deal (£75 per night).

I honestly cannot find a down-side to this hotel and highly recommend it.

Perfect for the money. Better than many five star hotels!

Chose this hotel as only staying one night in Lille and just wanted the three basics - cleanliness, good shower, big comfy bed. This hotel exceeded expectations. From the personal feel at reception (Vincent is not only gorgeous (!) but professional and most helpful - through to the fact the rooms and bathrooms were beautifully clean - an absolute must in my book.

The modern approach to food available is a great idea - little healthy nibbles available as and when you want. The free movies and internet is how it should be in five star hotels but sadly never is. I would gladly have enjoyed a longer stay here and certainly for travellers coming in and out of Lille Europe, it's beyond perfect.

The only thing is that it's a good ten minute walk into old Lille but after the great restaurants Lille has to offer, the walk is needed!

The one thing I do hope is that the hotel is able to keep up with the cleanliness and immaculate decor. These chain hotels often start out their lives perfectly but then don't get the overhauls when required. I hope they remember to keep it really fresh and I'd choose this chain again and again.

Bathroom was superb - thank heavens for finally intelligent designers who put in a bath and a seperate shower (both with flexible cords)......it's a girl thing!

Friendly and efficient hotel

by TripAdvisor Member MourneGirl

We stayed here for one night on a leisure break and found the hotel to be well designed, with friendly and efficient service and good facilities. Our room was spotless and generously sized.

It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre where there is a choice of restaurants.

Great Value

by TripAdvisor Member Pliny

we just booked an evening at this hotel, after a quick trip on Euro Star, I found this hotel excellent value rooms modern stylish
and very clean, staff at reception were polite and helpful.
Breakfast was imaginitive and healthy excellent value at
12 Euros with plenty of choice great value.
I would use them again

Maintenance Programme needed - yesterday.

by TripAdvisor Member biggles231

A beautifully designed and well priced and sited hotel, completely spoilt by room faults. We nearly cooked on our first night due to an aircon system that simply pushed out hot air, raising the temperature to over 80 degrees before we shut it off, meanwhile the toilet was stuck on permanent flush. We complained and were offered a slighly scruffy smoking room - the aircon worked, but the TV was faulty. The young lady receptionist who attempted to assist was charming, but completely out of her depth in resolving such matters.

We have just returned from Lille after a weekend, this is a great hotel located straight across the road from the Eurostar Station and about 5 - 10 minutes walk to the town centre. The hotel is clean and the room was huge with all the facilities you could want and need. The receptionist and the other staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent city station hotel

by TripAdvisor Member PamperedAndProud

You really can't ask for more - cheap, good size room, clean, pleasant. Ok it's not going to win any style or amenity prizes but it's right next to the station.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Hotel Good - but max stay of 2 nights, otherwise bored by Lille!!

Quick Review

Room great for families, got a rate of Eur 63 per night over the Easter weekend (excl breakfast).Room has a microwave and fridge. They show blockbuster movies free of charge (get Pin from hotel).Approximately a 5 minute walk to Euralille shopping centre, which has a supermarket in case you want to buy milk, wines and other goods.Approx 10 minute walk to main shopping area. Church of St Maurice (I think) is in the central area, worth a visit, I am not a big historian but that church is amazing.
The hotel is not cheap Eur 4 for a small diet coke, and most surrounding food shops not that much better (no different to central London prices - e.g. Eur 2.50 a croissant).Another point is that there are not many English speaker in the shops which I enjoyed as I could test my French however other should be prepared and not assume everyone will speak English. Another tip, if you call a cab from your hotel be prepared to pay a Eur 5 premium versus walking across the road and getting one from outside the station, taxis have different rates based on how they were called!
