Les Hauts de Boulogne: Charming small hotel near old town

A very short walk to the old town, this little hotel is charming, friendly and extremely comfortable. We arrived late and rushed out to grab some food. When we returned to our room, we were delighted with the attention to detail designed to make your stay comfortable. It is really a small hotel, with a small lounge, kitchen and a lovely garden, but the rooms are equiped more like a 5 star. Details included, books to read, flowers, a box of tissues in a pretty designed cover, a huge pile of soft fluffy towels, a hand-held powerful hairdryer scented candles and such. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in with traditional sheets, blankets, mounds of pillows and cushions. Bliss. Everything was spotless. The room also had wi-fi, a flat screen tv, tasteful art and real wood furniture!

Cristele asks you what time you would like your breakfast and when you come down it is all laid out in the pretty, breakfast room - all pink and bright with French windows (!) leading to a lovely natural style garden with sun loungers dotted around in no particular order and mature plants. Alas , we were only there for one night, I could have settled in that little hotel for a few days and not bothered leaving!

Breakfast is a simple but quality affair, with cheeses, yougurts, criossant, home made jams and a large pot of fresh cafe. Again - perfect. Aparently, you can book a massage if desired.

The price of the room was less than expected and when Cristale returned with our receipt she held a bunch of flowers from the garden (she had taken the time to cover the stems in water-saked tissue) and some home made jam as a gift for my birthday - What service and utterly charming. As I say this is a small hotel and there is no pool, bar etc etc but I can highly recommend it, especially if you are on a road trip and just passing through, you will get a great rest. There are only a few rooms, so I recommend booking in advance.
