Ocean Birds: The Freedom of Flying
go to "La Cote Sauvage" if you like the wildlife. When the water is down ("reflux", "maree bas") you can step on the cliffs and see a lot of small animals, but most of all the birds. The black birds on the cliffs in the ocean.
It's a great small city one hour and half by train from Nantes. If you want to taste Bretagne it's a must see.
It has a great church, great old houses and you can see old men and women playing petanc.
"shopping and eating"
Lot's of restaurants at the sea side, lot's of great souvenir shops, great architecture, great atmosphere.
You must taste les crepes with cidre
Le Croisic is a small ocean town near Guerande on the west coast of France. We visited here shortly after having visited Guerande. It wasn't much of a beach day, being about 50 degrees F, but that didn't stop half of the guys, and one rather tenacious girl, from jumping in the ocean nonetheless. It was quite a sight. Later on a bunch of us attempted to play hackey sack in the sand. I don't recommend it, you'll get sand in your eye.
The only real place of interest that we visited here other than the beach, was their Oceanarium. It was pretty nice, though small.
The shark tank was neat because you could actually go through a tunnel underneath it and look up into it. you could also go up to the top level and (though you weren't supposed to) touch the huge manta rays as they skimmed the surface.
"The Little Penguins"
During my study abroad in Angers, France, we took many day trips. One such trip was to the coast, specifically Le Coisic, where we went to the aquarium. We watched the penguins being fed and saw a good bit of other sea life. It was quite an interesting activity.
The Freedom, The Ocean
"The Freedom, The Ocean"
Small village at the ocean, Porte d'Amour, Le Croisic was on our way, so I decided we can pay it a visit.
I liked "La Cote Sauvage" where we went without knowing exactly what was it about.
We stopped just on the cliffs near the ocean and I took some pictures of the birds. There is a place here with a lot of birds, small fishes and crabs living together. Really wonderful especially if you like wildlife.
