Could anyone clarify whether Nantes and Nantes Atlantique are one-in-the-same
airports or not and give advise on train or bus travel to LA ROCHELLE and LA
CHATAIGNERIE.
Nantes to La Rochelle is 2 hours by train, look on www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvHomePage?_CMD=cmdHomepageUK
For La Chataigneraie (note spelling!!) there are buses from Nantes, see http://www.autocarhervouet.com/autocarhervouetFR/eLA/?numLIGNE=290, or else nearby SNCF stations are Fontenay-le-Comte (from where there is also a bus to La Chataigneraie - not sure of details but you could try the contact link on http://www.tourisme-sudvendee.com/situezan/) and Niort, see www.paysdelachataigneraie.org.

visit the church which was built after the French Revolution. During the Vendee War (between the Revolutionary army and the Royalists), Clisson was completly destroyed, excepted the castle and the market hall because is is used to lodge the soldiers.
Between nantes theatre (Graslin place) and place Royal, you have a very nice street to shop called Rue Crebillon.
At the middle of this street, you should take a walkway called 'Passage Pommeraye': it's one of Nantes nicest place...
This place is classified as historical monument, and some famous movie scenes comes from it.
