Help - Nice family place to stay on route to Lacanau
by TRAZ666
Hi all,
Looking to book a family holiday next August in Lacanau area. We will be sailing to Cherbourg and driving down and would like to stop on the outskirts of Nantes for a night. Can anyone recommend a B&B style place thats good for families? A bonus would be a pool but not essential.
Many Thanks

On one of our journeys south we stopped here -
http://www.restaurant-abreuvoir.com/index.php
It is an Logis de France 2* hotel with a pool rather than a B&B but I think finding a Chambre d'hote style B&B with a pool in this are might be a bit difficult.
Although the building started life as a farm over 200 years ago it has been a restaunt/hotel for many years and was totally remodelled about 20 years ago. The accommodation now is in garden bungalows built around the pool. Very comfortable and quiet even though not far off the N137.
The restaurant and function rooms are in the main building. The food in the restaurant was good though a little pricey.
You could try chambresdhotes.com for B&B accommodation though, as I said, a pool may be hard to find.
Around the Nantes ring road there are numerous budget hotels Campanile, Ibis, Etap and others.
We travelled at the very end of August and booked this place for our first overnight stop after finding most of the places we looked at first fully booked on a Friday night. So I would definitely recommend booking well in advance particularly as you will be travelling with a family. Good Luck - I hope this helps.
