Nantes used to be a great soccer team. It still is sometimes, when they reach top levels of French soccer championship.
Nantes has definitely one of the best formative school. Deschamps, Makelele or Karembeu used to play in Nantes.
For soccer fans, going to La Beaujoire might be a good experience. Discovering the famous "jeu à la nantaise": an intelligent and team based way of playing. And if lucky, you may go to see them during one of our great season.
FYI, Nantes has won reently 2 championship over the last 15 years. This year, they are not playing that successfully. Nothing special to bring. You can buy beer and scarfs there. Still, you cant bring the beer inside the stadium.
