Some Questions

by Danieljd

Hi, I am travelling to Nantes at the end of this month with my family, I have read that there are a lot of street prostitutes around Nantes, is this true? I just don't want my kids to have to see all that. What areas should we avoid?

Thanks

In Nantes,? They were well hidden if they were there. I have been there and have nothing but good memories of the area.

So it would be safe enough?

You probably won't see any street prostitutes but if you do, just don't point them out to your kids and they won't even see them. Kids don't think that way.

I know it's a little bit late, but for anyone visiting Nantes in the future, there are a few places where "ladies of the night", as we'll call them, often practice their trade. These places are, and usually only during night time, are: near the SNCF train station and the Quai de la Fosse road near the Loire River.

Travel Tips for Nantes

Parc de Grand Blottereau

by radu_c

I've been there this week-end and just walked there for about 1.5 hours.
They have nice trees and flowers, a small lake and it seems pretty quiet, that's what I liked.
There are also tennis courts up there, but they were full at the time we arrived there.
At the beginning was pretty difficult to find the park, but then I easily found the way back throught the center.

ST NAZAIRE is a modern harbour place. The harbour is interesting, but furthermore this city has no real beauty. Only go for the harbour if you like it.
At the end of august, around the 20th of april this city real is worth visiting. Then there is a great festival around the harbour with live music, snacks and harbour tours. You even can go inside a submarine just to take a look what it's like.
