on june 2013, we had a studio for 4 persons, we booked through booking.com for 80e per night,
we wanted a place to sleep for some hours during the 3day festival in Clisson so didn’t mind to be away from city center, although we wanted to stay again at Quality Hotel there weren’t available rooms for the weekend so we stayed at Cerise for 2 nights. It was also located just off the peripherique avenue and there was free parking on site. 150 metres from the cable car station which provides direct access to the city centre or the train station.
The reception is open Monday to Friday 7.00-21.00, Sunday 8.00-12.00 and 17.00-20.00, Saturday and public holidays closed! In case you arrive outside those hours you have to call them in advance.
There are 94 rooms
There was free wi-fi access through out the hotel, the signal was good in the room too
We were already disappointed by the room so we didn’t pay for the breakfast which was extra too. You have to pay 8euros per person and as there is no common area/restaurant they serve the breakfast at room!
The quad room was a bad surprise, 2 single beds and 1 almost double, the room seemed old, outdated and just basic. There was kitchenette that we didn’t use with a warning if you don’t leave it clean you will be charged extra. We took advantage of the fridge.
The bathroom was very small with a tiny shower. Hopefully there was hot water all the time, including simple soap and small shampoo.
on june 2013 we stayed a quad room for 75euros per night, we booked through booking.com.
we wanted a place to sleep for some hours during the 3day festival in Clisson so didn’t mind to be away from city center, we knew we wouldn’t have time for the city this time. It is located at the peripheric of Nantes, 10’ drive from Nantes city centre (the chateau is 5km away), 20’ drive from Nantes airport. There was free parking on site. We had GPS but it was a bit difficult to locate the hotel as it is actually at the end of a dead-end street, at 4am was a bit confusing.
There are are 257 rooms. The reception is open daily 24hours, friendly staff. The lobby is a spacious area including a nice restaurant. There was free wifi access but signal seemed to be strong only near the reception, in room you can use the Ethernet cable but if you have a smartphone you’ll be without option.
There was a spacious restaurant area (looked like a corner in a conference space). where you could have your breakfast for 10euro per person but we decided to skip it. We were 4 so for 40euros we had great breakfast at local bakery or even inside the festival
The quad room was perfect, actually 2 different double rooms connected with a starcase and separated WC and shower. There was a flat-screet TV, a fridge and a kitchenette, we didn’t have time to use it. The room was clean and very quiet.
The bathroom wasn’t very big but it was clean, with hot water all the time, a simple soap and many small shampoo.
This is my all time favorite in the city when I was visiting from Versailles where I used to lived. The hotel is right in a nice square right next to the tramway but parking in hotel !!!
needless to say the hotel is well located within walking distanc of the best in Nantes, and now with great tramway transportation on line 1. The rooms are nice and spacious with laudry and hairdressing facilities.
the bar is open from 8h to 00H midnight and sure to meet interesting folks. Highly recommended for those visiting VTers
excellent location in the golden triangle of Nantes. indoor parking available for 45 cars. easy in and out.
It was really out from city centre. So, it might be suitable for people who travel with car or rented the car.
Very spacious! When you enter the lobby...it is huge open space. Room I stayed in was double, spacious had its kithen corner with everything needed for cooking.
I'd say really nice hotel but the location is bad. I got an impression that travelling frensh businessmens are using it a lot. It had its conference facilities as well. It is most likely not ment to be for the " usual - city break " tourist.
Nantes has only one yoyth hostel and it is situated near the railway station. Not the best location but still very central and with the tramway a few minutes from the city center. Just went once in the hall to visit and the place is correct and clean. Rooms starting around 14€ (dorms).
This is the campground at Notredame, a small place near Nantes. You can hire a tent here or park your own tent or caravan. For hiring tents with beds, small kitchenette and some outside furniture try organizations like Canvas, Eurocamp or Camp Solleil.
100 guilders= 350 francs = 60 dollars per night in high season (when you hire at tent, it's cheaper when you bring your own tent or caravan).
There is a: reception, shop, take away food shop, restaurant, telephone, loundry, swimming pool, minigolf, playground and an activity organizer.
We made one stop before getting in Nantes. This overnight stop was at Verdelot, near Paris. Campground Verdelot (Caravanning Freme de la Fee) is very peaceful and only 45 minutes away from Euro Disney (for pictures of this parc see my Paris page travellogue). The camping has all shower and toiletfacilities, a lake is nearby, there are two tenniscourts and horsebackriding can be done nearby (12 kilometers from the camping).
100 guilders (60 American dollars) per night for a hired already put on tent at the spot with beds, kitchen and outside furniture.
Peaceful. Reception, Telephone, showers, tenniscourt nearby, minigolf, playground, gamesroom.
