Hotel Formule Un: On a budget
Accor are currently updating their 1* budget hotels in this range but Abbeville wasn't one of them that had been completed by August 2010.
The hotel is off the Amiens road near to the Ibis and it is amazing that all the other Accor owned hotels are in the drop down menu for tips and F1 isn't.
The hotel is clean and tidy. The downside is that loos and showers are in the hallways and of the automatic cleaning sort like the public loos in the street! Not very convenient for that middle of the night trip to the bathroom!
We stayed one night on the way back to the channel ports after a short trip.
Unique Quality: Cost - very cheap
Good breakfast at a little over €3.

Hotel Formule 1: Cheap, cheerful and clean
An overnight stay on the way back from somehere else.
F1 hotels are at the bottom of the Accorhotels ladder but are generally clean and are usually very cheap.
This one wasn't one of the newly updated ones but was still clean enough.
Unique Quality: None really. Simply somewhere to lay your head!

Chateau de Behen: Completely lovely
Definitely worthwhile as a destination in its own right. This chateau is perfect.
Unique Quality: For couples: a perfect chateau, 6 bedrooms at c.80 euros. Bedrooms are absolutely huge, faultlessly decorated, most comfortable beds ever. Even the toiletries came from Annick Goutal, my wife's favourite exclusive Paris parfumier. Unbeatable. In Britain this would cost 4 times as much: if you could find it. Serious horses to ride onsite. Monsieur Cuvelier ran a stud farm in Australia for seven years, so speaks excellent English. The croissants in the morning are the best I've had. Meals at the Chateau are great value, and very good.
