Hotel Vega: Hotel Vega
Instead of choosing one of the hotels along the river Oise, we opted for this relatively cheap hotel with its unpretentious facade, situated in a narrow street between the river and the town hall. Quiet - but we did hear some strange noises during the night. All in all good value for money ; French breakfast with croissants, coffee and marmelade included.

Les Araucarias: Campsite in Carlepont
This is in a little village called Carlepont, outside Noyon and near to the Compiegne. It was our first family holiday abroad and we loved it. We had a caravan, it was a huge tourer and cost us about £250 for 2 weeks. They have smaller tourers that you can rent, you can take your own tent or touring caravan, and they also have chalets and mobile homes (which are just wooden chalets without a balcony) The prices are very good value, there are 3 toilets and one shower in a block that is split for the men and women, you all go through one door and ladies to the left, men to the right. The owner is very friendly and helpful. In Compiegne you can catch a train to Paris, taking about 50 minutes. No pub, club or pool. Liked it so much we are going again this summer
Unique Quality: Beatiful area, surrounded by lots of araucarias trees (Monkey tails) Convenient area to explore this lovely part of France
