Le Macassar - Corbie

We were invited here to celebrate Chris' (Chrishc) 50th Birthday by Natalie (nhcram). Any excuse to go to France, but of course we were in for a treat. This hotel proved to be by far the most amazing place I have ever stayed in.

Our hosts, Ian and Miguel, effortlessly welcomed us into their home and made us feel like we were friends rather than guests which is quite an art. We were welcomed into the garden where we were offered champagne and where I got to know Spatz, their wonderful dog! What a little darling he is.

We went for dinner to a local bistro where the food was wonderful and the welcome warm, but on our return, Ian served us with liquers before bed time.

Breakfast was strawberries and champagne, pastries, tea and coffee and scrambled eggs and bacon, the eggs were superb, thank you Miguel!

We were treated to dinner on Sunday night by Natalie, which was lovely, piano player and drinks in the lounge to start.

Reluctantly left on Monday morning to continue our holiday....
