We loved staying at this hotel.
It was formally the residence of one of the wealthy cognac producing familes of the area.
When we stayed it had recently been bought and the new owners were just starting renovations, though it all looked in pretty good condition as it was.
We were lucky to be upgraded to one of the best rooms, which had views across the valley.
There is a very good restaurant, with excellent food and wine.
The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Unique Quality: An amazing 19th Century mansion.
Very peaceful surroundings.
We sat on sun lounges on the lawn, along with the owners dog, and enjoyed a drink whilst soaking up the atmosphere.
Directions: A few minutes drive from the centre of Cognac.
