Le port de Royan dispose d’une importante flottille de chalutiers avec plus d’une centaine de marins-pêcheurs. Il fait partie avec la Rochelle et La Cotinière (île d’Oléron), des trois grands ports de pêche de la Charente-Maritime.
Les espèces nobles telles que bars, maigres, soles, langoustines, crevettes roses, sont pêchées au large des côtes et sont ensuite vendues aux mareyeurs à la Criée de Royan, bâtiment construit en 1981 sur le port de pêche.
The harbor of Royan has an important flotilla of trawlers with more of about hundred sailors - fishers. It makes part with the Rochelle and The Cotinière (island of Oléron), of the three big harbors of fishing of the Charente Maritime.
The noble species as bars, skinny, soles, scampis, pink shrimps, are fished to the large of the coasts and are sold to the "mareyeurs" then to the "Criée de Royan", building constructs in 1981 on the harbor of fishing.
