The Cours Mirabeau
The Cours Mirabeau is the Aix-en-Provence Champs Elysée, in smaller scale. It's a beautiful tree-lined boulevard with shops, restaurents, cafés, pâtisseries where you have to try the city's signature : the calissons.

I am wondering what is the best transportation way , it is quite difficult for me to find the relvant info about the fare and the details.
1. From Aix to Marseille airport
2. From Aix to Avignon
3. From Nice to Aix
Thank you very much. :D
By train.
You can find train times and details in English here:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
but for fares as well you need to look at the French language website:
http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train/horaires
It is easy to work out.
Aix>Avignon takes from around an hour (much less if you go to the TGV railway station but that will also be more expensive). One-way fare from 26.30 euro.
Nice>Aix takes around 3.5 hours, one-way fare from 33.50 euro.
Aix to Marseilles airport takes around 30 minutes, cost 6.90 euro.
Thanks both of you :D

Everyone says, before you go, read Peter Mayle. Well, no. I read him, or started to do so, and got a bit bored to be honest. I wanted Provence, and got this old git waxing about the countryside. Okay, that's a bit hard on Pete, but I just couldn't be bothered finishing it, I preferred to live my own Provence, which is fair enough. BUT!!!!!
What you should do, before you go AND after, is watch the two films JEAN DE FLORETTE and MANON DES SOURCES. Essentially two parts of the a story, it is a classic slice of Pagnol's Provence, and Daniel Auteuil is brilliant as Ugolin. And check out Emmanuelle Beart!
There are a lot of very upscale boutiques in Aix, but I think Gago has the most contemporary pret a porter for both men and women. Designers such as Prada, Helmut Lang, Tsumori Chisato, Marjolin Van Den Heuvel, and Gucci are included in their collection. Very expensive.
Lovely, nice and cheap restaurant. You can have all kinds of salads, pizzas, tender meat, grillades hors d'oeuvre (as they say in English!!!). The prices are very affordable and if you happen to be in Aix during the warm season, you'll have a table outside and you'll enjoy a beautiful street scene.
AEP has a wonderful open markets almost every day of the week. Please doe visit the old town and around the main street "Court de Mirabeau", you will find interesting and eye-catching markets with many local fruits, food, antiques, etc.
OPen markets really gives a pleasure to your traveling life.
