More about Pavillon de la Torse
Pavillon de la Torse is a reason to come to Aix !
Thank you Trip Advisor! My husband and I found this gem of a B&B by reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Every positive thing that was said about this special place was true. We were captivated by Marie and Francois from the moment we met them at the door. They made us feel like we truly were their personal friends, having a nice holiday in their lovely home. They were exceptional hosts in every way. We looked forward to our "apertif hour" every day, and were most unhappy when we missed it one day! The drinks and hors d'oeuvres were delicious, and the company delightful. We loved our room, the beautiful grounds, the lovely outside patio, and the warm and inviting public rooms. We felt pampered and very well attended to. We also thought the location to be perfect--close enough to walk to town, but far enough away to enjoy the beautiful grounds. We spent four nites with Marie and Francois, and would have stayed on if we were not leaving for a bike trip! We will definitely be back to Pavillon de la Torse. We will return to Pavillon de la Torse
We spent four nights with Mary and Francios at the Pavillion de la Torse and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Provence.
The location was superb. It is walking distance to the center of Aix-en-Provence; a true bonus since parking is difficult. Many day trips are possible and were easy to plan out with our hosts.
Thankfully Francois advised that we stay at least four nights and he was right. Knowing what I know now, I would plan for five or more.
The property is private; the rooms are comfortable and clean.
A computer is available for the guests and we were able to use it anytime we needed.
Daily Breakfast and occasional Apertifs were a good time to compare notes with other guests and plan for the next outing.
As there is so much yet to see, we will return.
Perferct 20th Anniversary
We sayed for 5 days in August for our 20th anniversary, and Pavillon de la Torse turned out to be the best part of our trip. Not only is the property beautiful, but Francois & Marie are the perfect hosts. They thought of everything from delicious breakfast to internet to recommendations on what to do and see in Provence. They even helped me by a special surprise anniversary gift for my wife. Provence is a regular stop for us in Europe, and Pavillon de la Torse will be our destination of choice from now on.
Perfect Honeymoon in Provence
Although from the website we expected Pavillon de la Torse to be a very nice place, it was hard to truly appreciate the grandeur of this old estate and grounds before we arrived. The building is a remodeled 18th century bastide. The landscaping in front of the house is filled with gardens and fountains. I could just feel the tension melt out of my shoulders as I looked around. The long driveway is lined with majestic centennial trees. When the wind blew through these trees it sounded very much like a flowing river. The exterior is painted in wonderful warm contemporary colors. And the interior is modernized for convenience without loosing the flavor of its past. We could see there was a great deal of care and attention to detail all around. Our room was spacious and decorated with antique furniture and art from Provence. The friendly owners and our gracious hosts, Mary and Francois Gregoire, were very helpful getting us oriented. Downtown Aix was only a 15 minute walk which we did for shopping, visiting the market and dining. It was only a short distance to the freeway so day trips were easy. We started every morning with a delicious continental breakfast that included coffee and fruit, yogurt and juice, fresh bread and pastries! We were always anxious to get back in time for aperitif. It was wonderful to share experiences with our hosts and the other guests. It was a lovely place to recuperate after long days of sightseeing before heading out to dinner in downtown Aix. By the end of our stay we felt like family!
We highly recommend Pavillon de a Torse to anyone planning a trip to Provence. Nova Starling and Bob Woerner, Livermore, California
For our family we were visiting Aix-en-Provence for the first time since moving back to the US after having lived in Aix for several years. La Torse was the ideal place to stay to get back into the "Provence" lifestyle.
Travelling with a 4 year old is always cahllenging; however, Marie and Francois made is very easy for my wife and me. The room accommodated my daughter just beautifully. She particularly enjoyed the even "Aperitif" and still asks to have her evening "Siopr Cassis"
Style & sophistication!
We spent four nights at Pavillion de la Torse in late September and without doubt it was the highlight of our five week trip through France and Italy.
The owners Marie and Francois were the perfect hosts, and their "compulsory happy hour" with the other guests made for a most harmonious and entertaining start to the evening.
The accommodation is of a very high standard and would meet the expectations of the most discerning traveller.
We hope to return again.

We were glad to hear from François that we could stay the very last nights they're open in 2006! One day later they went for a vacation... The hospitality was splendid again (we booked in La Torse for the second time).
We arrived very late the first evening, but this exception was no point for Marie and François. They gave us some instructions for the gate and we've met them the next morning at breakfast. Excellent again... with delicious home made cake (thank you for the receipt, Marie!).
We're very sure that we'll come again at this nice oase in Aix. A pity that La Torse is closed in the winter time, but I'm sure we'll be one of the first guests in spring again!!!
What a Find!
We absolutely loved our stay with Marie and Francois at their charming and wonderful home in Aix. From the moment we arrived...the awesome feeling of driving down the tree lined road to the front door of the villa where they met us and invited us to cocktails that night to the moment we left armed with directions and food for the road..we were pampered and taken care of completey. One unique aspect of their hospitality is the cocktail hour where we met other guests some of whom have become our friends that we will see over the holidays. We thank Marie and Francois for this opportunity. Seeing Aix and the surrounding areas through their eyes was truly a memorable experience. We would recommend a stay with them without hesitation!
Honeymoon in Provence
What a great stay we had in Aix at this beautiful B & B! Marie and Francois were so welcoming, so much so that they kept the place open for us at the end of their season so that we could stay. We both loved the surroundings and the town itself. We couldn't really fault anything about our experience here - the breakfast, the aperatif, the rooms - everything was beautiful! We look forward to coming again soon and would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
Love the friendly 5-star service
We took a detour from our Paris trip and visited Aix-en-Provence. The beautiful ground and friendly hosts provided us an very relax visit. We especially love the nightly aperitif where we drank plenty of champagne and chat with Francois and Mary about world travels.
Pavillon de la Torse is well located, walking distance to the famous Aix downtown, short drive to beautiful coast line, Marseille, and many charming Provence villages. We will be back next year.
