swimming clubs

by edavey

We are considering buying an appt in Antibes. Would prefer something in centre rather on a complex. This means we won't have access to a swimming pool.
I'm wondering if any of the hotels with pools have leisure clubs which non hotel residents can join.
Any info including rates gratefully received Thank you

RE: swimming clubs

I know this is a dumb question, and I half expect I know the answer, but given the beautiful beaches of Antibes and a personal pool known as the Mediterranean, why would you want a hotel pool? Myself, I don't understand it. I'd like to understand better.

Cheers
Andrew

There is a very good 'public' swimming pool in Antibes. (indoor and outdoor pools. The outdoor pool is great in the summertime, there is an area to sit out by the poolside...)

Travel Tips for Antibes

Pastis

by chbuchie

Although the taste of Anis is not likely to be for the common of the mortals, this apero drink is part of the local culture while sitting outside in the sun and the waiter will offer you some olives to go along

cheers !

Free Willi and jumping dolphins

I've been to quite a few animal parks on my travels, and Marineland in Antibes near Nice is one of the coolest!
A beautiful park near the coast of the french rivera, and a park that besides the Marineland itself also includes four smaller parks; AQUA-SPLASH, LA PETITE FERME, LA JUNGLE DES PAPILLONS and ADVENTURE GOLF.

The Marineland is a oceanic park where you get to see both killer whales, dolhins and sealions perform amazing shows in big beautiful water stadiums!
You'll also get the chance to see Sharks and other sea-animals here, but nothing beats the shows!

When I went there in the month of July 2002, there weren't any queue-problems to get in, and there are good parking facilities.
Adultes are charged (2002-prices) 24 Euros to enter the Marineland, while kids go for 16 Euros.
But then you can combine the different parks into a pack and save some money.
I tried the Adventure Golf also for only 1 Euro in top of the Marineland price, and it was worth it. You'll get to choose from 3 different and very beautiful 18 hole tracks!

Into the maze of narrow streets and alleys

by Pavlik_NL

Through the gates in the wall that parts the port Vauban from the houses of the inner centre of Antibes, one enters a labyrinth of streets and alleys. Many cosy restaurants and cafe's have here their terraces and little shops sell the craziest things imaginable. From touristic garbage to culinair gadgets to get snails out of their shell. Antibes has a very nice centre that radiates still something of the old ancient medieval times as it is not as crowded like the same historical centre in Nice. Therefore it is especially pleasant for the more puritan tourists.

Marche Provencal

by kenningst

Honestly, I find this place the most interesting place in the whole of Antibes. Sort of a local market, it has mini stalls all over the place selling gifts and souvenir items on one side and on the other a row of restaurants waiting to serve you will delicious local delicacies. Definately worth a stroll in this place.

Markets

At the Cours Massena, in front of the Mairie
