Going around
by agarcia
She has that smile on her face, the one that you have when you are five years old and your mother dress you with your favorite dress... and she allows you to take a ride on the carousel.
First you feel the excitement; it seems that you're going to remain still forever, but then the little white horse you're riding starts its movement... and your eyes shine, and you saw how your mother smiles at you with a mixture of proud and happiness . But you don't really care about her, or about the guy who is taking pictures at you.
Your only concern right there, at that moment, is that you don't want your little white horse ever to stop. You want to feel that trickling in your arms, you want to see how the world runs around you exactly like that forever. Enjoy your ride, sweetheart. I certainly enjoyed witnessing your happiness. :-)

France is at its best in spring ('April in Paris', remember?), with the beach resorts beginning to get busier in May. Autumn is pleasant, too, but the days are fairly short and the temperatures get a little chilly toward the end of the season. Mid-July through the end of August is when most city dwellers take their annual vacation to usually the coasts and mountains.
Cafe Across The River
by painterdave about No Name For This One
We were camping in Avignon and so we did not experience any outstanding dining except for one restaurant.
As we drove back and forth along the river we were seeing a restaurant on the other side. You can't miss it. So one afternoon we went over and had a fun experience eating outdoors while being able to look across the river and see Avignon.
The service was not the greatest, but the food was exceptional.
Being across the river seems to be more peaceful and quiet.
Pont St Benezet
by roamer61
This historic bridge first built in the 12th Century was later rebuilt in the 13th and restored in the 15th. A flood of the Rhone washed part of it away in the mid 17th Century. The bridge was originally built for both foot and horse. A small chapel dedicated to St. Nicolas, the patron saint of boatsmen, is situated midway.
According to legend, in 1177, a sheperd named Benezet was told to build this bridge by an angel. It was 8 years later that in fact construction was begun.
Admission to the bridge is included with entry to the Palais des Papes.
