First, the location is great. Looking out your window to the right you'll see the Palais des Papes, in front of you the Opera, to the left you see Place de l'Horloge bursting with its restaurants, citizens and artists.
The room was clean and the bathroom was huge. (This is an especially good point if travelling with a female companion. Tracey was very happy. ) New tiles and new hardware including a large heater were in place when we arrived. And you can still smell the wood from the new armoire placed outside the bathroom door.
The staff was fabulous. Very friendly and never shy with recomendations.
I would skip the continental breakfast. Basically, you're paying 11E per person for cheese and bread. I sampled the eggs (bag system) ...and the "sausage". This apparent meat product looked far too pink for human consumption - it was something out of a teenage gross out flick. Instead of the hotel's breakfast, either take a trip down one of the alleys and find yourself something cooked or hit up a grocer and plan your own breakfast.
Oh, and you'll have a laugh when you see the hallway decor on the suite levels. When stepping out of the elevator don't be shocked to think you're entering a 1970's time warp. Nasty yellow/red combination.
We booked online and received a discount of $70E.
