As well as in all other cities in southern France the game of petanque is also very popular in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
There is a club near the beach in the center city, and this is one of the coolest places I have ever played petanque.
Perfectly located 'just across the street' from the beach, great weather, great courses and some nice people.
I played there in 1994 and again in 2002, and both times enjoyed it very much. In 1994 me and my family were invited to play with the local members and they offered a drink in their clubhouse, which is cozy by the way. It offers a bar and tables for the usually card-playing french petanque-players.
Managed to find the club again in 2002 and the people there were just as friendly as eight years ago. This is a wonderful place to play the game of petanque! You need to bring you own 'boules'
