transportaion to st paul de vence

by debbiv2

We are a group of 8 arriving by ship to Cannes in June. How expensive would it be to hire a taxi to take us to St Paul de Vence? I read there is no train that goes directly there. Rental cars are quite expensive to fit 8 people. Any help or suggestions I would appreciate.

You can get a bus direct from Nice (about an hour, regular service), or take the train to Cagnes-Sur-Mer and then a short bus or taxi ride.

Details in English on the official village website:

Train times, details and fares on www.sncf.com

http://www.lignedazur.com/horaires_ligne/index.asp?rub_code=6

will give you the bus timetables from Nice>St Paul in English. Buses leave roughly every 35 - 45 minutes.

Walk, taxi or bus to Cannes station then get a train.

Times and fares here (in French, but easy to work out):

Takes about 30 minutes, costs 5 euro one-way. No need to book train tickets in advance.

Welcome beach lovers!

The beaches at Cannes are pretty glamorous, but don't fall into the trap of paying to sit a hotel's beachfront. The public beaches are all too often overlooked and this is where I had the most fun. I met three guys from England that took me under their wing and only added to the enjoyment of my weekend!

One thing that we do in all the places
that we visit, is take some time and just
wander around the side streets with no
destination in mind.

We have found many nice little shops
and places to eat by doing so ....

"Cannes"

Cannes was formally a fishing village. But due to the International Film Festival this quite fishing village have emerge as one of the elegant city and attracts an international clientele.

The Croisette is one of the most famous promenades in the world and with flower gardens, lawns planted with palm trees, umbrella pines and other trees
