Travel from Nice to Cannes
by mielms
My husband and daughter will be traveling to Cannes in October. We will be coming from Zurich and I am searching for flights. We might have to land in Nice. How long is the travel from Nice to Cannes by taxi and how much will this cost? Thanks!!!

Hi,
there are two buses I know of between Nice airport and Cannes.
Bus 210 is an express service that runs every 30 minutes from Nice airport to Cannes bus station, and serves both Terminal 1 and 2. The trip takes about 45-50 minutes. A single ticket costs EUR 15.60, a return EUR 25.50.

Bus 200 is a slower but cheaper service to Cannes. A single ticket costs only EUR 1.00, but the trip takes about 80-90 minutes. This bus doesn't start from the airport, but comes from Nice, stops near Terminal 1 (and not at terminal 2), and then goes on to Cannes.

According to the airport's website, a taxi to Cannes costs about 70-80 euros, one way. The trip should take something like 30 minutes, but I guess it really depends on the traffic (hopefully it won't be that bad in October anymore).

Travel Tips for Cannes
La Croisette
by Lilasel
A visit to Cannes is not complete without a stroll along La Croisette, the splendid boardwalk that stretches along the whole length of Cannes' coastline. The atmosphere of this fabulous walkway changes with the passing of each hour. One minute you'll be surrounded by crowds of tourists, the next you'll meet a local walking with his dog, while at other times you'll pass wealthy, elegantly-dressed residents, or even eccentrics and posers making sure they grab the attention of every passer-by… but before 10 in the morning, when the town is still quiet, the atmosphere will take you right back to the belle époque...
Carnivores only!
by MM212 about le Maschou
Located on the narrow, uphill, pedestrianised street, rue Saint-Antoine, le Maschou is a unique restaurant in Cannes. It is set in a tiny cavernous dining room, dimly lit with burning candles, that tends to get packed every night. The menu is simple... or rather it hardly exists. One is afforded a choice of two appetisers (ham with melon, or bresaola with melon) accompanied by delicious grilled bread and followed by a big basket of tasty fresh vegetables. The main course offers three options: grilled whole chicken, seasoned lamb chops, or steak. If you still have room after this big feast, then definitely try one of their tempting desserts.
Great view from Hotel Balcony

Looking over Cannes port is the Notre-Dame d' Esperance. This church is in the old part of the city in the du Susquet district. It was built between 1521-1648 in gothic style. It has some impressive art works including busts, altarpieces and two wooden statues(one of the Virgin from the 16th century and one of St.Anne from the late 15th century. One end of the church has a Romanesque chapel which was used years ago as a rufuge. The main thing that catches the eye is a tall square bell tower.
The church is worth seeing and it looks very impressive looking over the port and old part of Cannes. From the church garden and grounds you have a great view of Cannes.I found the views breath taking to say the least.
Sand and Star's!

"When a film is finished, put it in the "Cannes"!"
Home to the Palais des Festivals, Cannes is the French version of America's Sundance Film Festival. While Park City offers snow to the stars of the film world, Cannes offers sand and the sparkle of the Cote Azur. With a beautiful blue ocean and its ancient architecture, Cannes is a perfect setting for a film festival. The beauty of this oceanside town does it's part to provide inspiration to all the artists of the film industry that gather her every year, though I can say this after visiting myself, you don't need to be in film to be inspired by this wonderful town!
