Mediocre food
by Elainehead about L'Entrecôte
Price Range: 11€ - 20€
I think their main specialty is meat, but you will find pasta and *I think* seafood.
We decided to eat there because their prices were attractive and they seemed popular, so we thought "why not?".
Service was quick and okay, at least for us, because our table neighbors waited to get their food served. The only English speaker is the waiter, so be warned, in case, you have trouble with the waitress (she's not being rude, it's just that she doesn't speak a single word in English).
We ordered the 20 Euro-menu which was an entrance (salad or something else), a main dish (meat or chicken) and a dessert of the day or ice-cream. We chose the "salad du chef" (green leaves, grated cheese and black olive). It was tasteless. The main dish was meat, which was served with green beans (cooked too much) and fries (frozen fries). I bet the meat and the green beans were both frozen food. The dessert of the day was some sort of chocolate-mousse pie, which wasn't bad and served with some sauce and what it was supposed to be whipped cream (totally melted).
Definitely not ever coming back here.
Notre Dame de l' Esperance

Located in the old section of Cannes, this chapel is one of the most well known landmarks of Cannes. It sits on top of a hill that overlooks the town and offers the best panoramic views of Cannes. Getting there is simple, just follow the clock tower!
The "Hotel de la Plage" - in the artists eye
by NiceLife
When someone tells you they are a "house painter" they rarely mean this - the entire facade here is in the artists eye, painted onto the flat side of the building.
The fictitious Hotel de la Plage is one of the most ambitious trompe d'oeil executions on the Riviera.
Found in the lower slopes of Le Souquet. Don't you just love it when people just love the place they live? Not destroyed by brainless hooded youth set on graffiti to gain "respect" of which they deserve none.

"Festival du Film 2001: Why It Kept Getting Better"
The Red Carpet
Finally! The girls and I made it to the festival! Our first stop was right outside the Main Event area: The Palais du Festivals. This is where the major film screenings take place. There are several restaurants right across from the theater so we took time to enjoy the moment while dining al fresco and stargazing.
The whole town of Cannes was in such "party mode" while we were there. It was like "Oscar Night" drunk on champagne! You can just feel the vibe as you stroll down the main boulevard. Dozens of multi-million dollar yachts line the harbor and the Paparazzi were always hanging close by. We were looking for "Nicole" sightings, but during our first night there, we didn't find any.
As the 3 of us sat, drank wine, and do what we do best (besides shop!).......people watch......we met several fine folks in the "industry." One friendly Aussie gave us a tip on the hottest party going on that night. He said it would be very difficult to get into, but told us, "just say you know 'Justin' and you're with "Slam Dunk." Ummmm.....okay? Shall we give it a try? Why not!
"Party Central: The Majestic Hotel"
Although we stayed in Nice during the whole time we were in Le Cote d'Azur.......Cannes was our nightly hangout.
Our original intention was to stay only 2 nights in this area.........It was the "After-Parties" at the famous (or is that INFAMOUS) Majestic Hotel along the main strip in Cannes that kept us there for 4 nights!
Here, the girls and I found ourselves attending the "after parties" and munching on smoked salmon and French wine......at 7am!!!!
Beautiful marble floors at this hotel..........
