Palais des Festivals
by Lilasel
Cannes’ moment of glory takes place in May, with the International Film Festival, when images of the stars descending the red-carpeted steps of the Palais des Festivals are flashed on television screens worldwide. For many, this city on France’s Côte d’Azur is synonymous with the glamour of this event. Often overlooked, however, is the fact that Cannes is France’s second most important city – after Paris – for business tourism.
La Croisette
by Kuznetsov_Sergey
One of the most well-known promenade in the world is Cannes La Croisette, stretched from the Palace of Festivals up to the Palm Beach casino. From port Kanto with numerous yachts through the bridge and parkway of a name of Alexander III you can get in Russian quarter, where Russian aristocracy lived in exile.
The Palace of Festivals - the most known place in Cannes. Everyone visited Cannes is obliged to be noted on avenue of Stars where the set of celebrities was left with prints of the hands.
Make a visit to a nearby medieval town
by happyboy48
Nestled high in the Hills above the Riviera is the ancient city of St Paul de Vence. As the bus chuggs up the steep grades the city walls become visible. Its a lot of fun plodding along the same narrow winding streets that midieval folk walked 300 or more years before. There are plenty of nice scenic areas for photography.
Always Sunny

"Experiences"
I've been to Cannes on a number of occasions in different times of the year and it's always been sunny, even in December. It's a short hop from Nice on the train and offers sandy public beaches, stretching for miles to Cannes Boca. The town is obviously split in two, the affluent promenade and everything else. I prefer the latter which offers some great affordable authentic French restaurants with Le mercier, my favourite.
"Cannes Festival"
It just so happened that the festival was on when we were in Nice preparing for our mountain trekking, so we took a brief trip up. What amazed me most was the international perspective. There were for example, lots of Nigerian and Chinese fans waiting for a glimpse of stars from their respective countries.
