Ideal hotel for star-gazing during the festival
This is considered one of the five-star "palaces" in Cannes, and even when it's not festival time I guarantee a room here is expensive.
If you can't afford to stay here, I *would* tell you to have a drink in the bar, but... while I was waiting for a meeting to begin, I asked for a Coke and never got it. Seems I didn't rate that high for service. So I sat at the bar for free and spotted celebs. Come to think of it, that's even better, really.
BTW, chances are the tacky movie ad eyesores are present only during the festival.
Unique Quality: What makes this particular hotel special is that it's directly across from the red carpet entrance at the Palais. So if you're lucky enough to nab a room that looks directly onto the Croisette, you can see everything without having to stand directly within the madness.
If you're serious about staying here during the festival, I would say book months in advance.
Directions: On the Croisette
