And when you are in the neighborhood

Next to the Russian Orthodox church of Saint-Michael-Archangel lays an older chruch of Roman Catholic religion called the Notre Dames du Pins (Our dear lady of the pinetrees) which holds inside a very peaceful domain and courtyard. The church itself now-a-days is partly restored, but needs still quite a lot of work.
Dream on!

Take a walk along Boulevard de la Croisette and dream about being able to afford to stay in one of these grand old (extremely expensive!!) hotels.
Make sure you don't get run down by the latest model ferrari when you cross the road...
le Suquet
by MM212
Le Suquet is the local name for the old city of Cannes which occupies the hill overlooking le Vieux Port. While possibly inhabited since pre-historic times, le Suquet traces its beginning to the 11th century when the land was donated to the abbey of îles de Lérins. Immediately afterwards, the construction of Château de la Castre, the fort on the hilltop, took place, and over time, a small town developed around the fort. Today, le Suquet is perhaps the most charming part of Cannes with its typically Mediterranean architecture. The streets of le Suquet are narrow, winding and hilly and lead up to the Château which offers great panoramic views of Cannes. Parts of le Suquet are very lively at night with some great restaurants to discover. For more pictures of these beautiful streets click on Le Suquet.
CANNES

"Cannes"
In 1996 my class and me we made a one-week trip to Cannes. We were living with a french family and during the day we had french classes and mad trips to the neighbouring cities, like Nice, and Monaco.
