Luxury accomodation
I did not stayed there, as I can't pay small fortunes for spending the night in five stars hotel when you can have a good night sleep also in smaller comfortable hotel.

Legendary hotel lived up to it's name
From start to finish everything went superb, the service was perfectly tuned, room was great although non sound-proof.
After watching the movie "French Kiss", I wanted to have lunch at the Carlton. Service was professional, quick, and attentive. We sampled wine, cheese, tarts, and was very satisfied. The beach in front of the hotel is modest in comparison to more expansive beaches found at Daytona, Hilton Head, etc., but it was adequate for what it was intended, i.e. people watching. (The ladies often are topless-wear glasses or they will know you are a tourist) The hotel is a Grand Old Dame, and epitomizes Cannes. Everything you would expect of a hotel of this calibre.
Unique Quality: Food is outstanding. Wine list is adequate, cheese selections are regional, and excellent. Views are breathtaking

Helpfulness
Architecture in style
One hotel deserves as architectural colos a mentioning in this hoteltips. The Carlton Intercontinental is a huge gracefully built hotel on the Boulevard de la Croisette. A stay here is outrageously expensive, but the building itself deserves it's prominent place in the Cannes skyline.

Cannes' most famous hotel
.
Unique Quality: Built in 1911, the Carlton Hotel is a trademark of Riviera glamour and an enduring symbol of the Film Festival. Though some top stars have deserted the hotel in recent years, the Carlton remains the first choice for festival purists.

Hotel Carlton - centrepiece of luxury
The top of the four "grande dames" of Cannes Hotels. If you can afford it, why stay anywhere else?

Most photographed hotel in France?
This is the Carlton Intercontinental - supposedly one of the most well-photographed buildings in the world. The domes on the top were inspired by the breasts of a French 19th century hooker. I know this because it's in the hotel's official literature, although they use the kinder "courtesan." Only in France would this information be considered worthy of passing on.
On a related note, after Monte Carlo I may never have to see another Belle Epoque building again. Ever.
Unique Quality: This is considered one of the five-star "palaces" in Cannes, and even when it's not festival time I guarantee a room here is expensive. If you can't afford to stay here, have a drink in the bar or on the patio and people watch on the Croisette.
BTW, chances are the the tacky movie ad eyesores are present only during the festival.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes last week. We took a standard room, which was comfortable, and with all the facilities expected of a 5 star hotel, but no view. The staff were particularly courteous and helpful at all times, and made our stay a most enyoyable one. We would definitely stay there again.

Where to park a rental car in Cannes
by gholsclaw
We are staying at the Carlton Cannes InterContinental, 58, BD. LA Croisette BP 155 and wanted to know if anyone knew of a good place to park our rental car. The parking fee at the hotel is 37 euro.
Can we park on the street anywhere or do you know somewhere else that might be cheaper? Thanks in advance for your help.
Re: Where to park a rental car in Cannes

Parking on the street if you can find it is free from 12 noon to 2pm and after 7pm plus all day on Sundays and public holidays, but there is a maximum stay of 2 hours in most places.Traffic wardens are efficient
The best value public car park near to the Carlton is just off the rue d'Antibes, at Place Lamy. Turn left off the Croisette up the side of the Carlton. In about 100 metres you will come to the rue d'antibes. Turn left into the rue d'Antibes and you will see the underground car park entrance on the right hand side after about 50 metres or so.
