SIM card recommendations

I am coming to France for 10 days soon (for the film festival in mid May), and would like to buy a SIM card either in Cannes or in Nice.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent firm or place to buy the card? Roughly how much can I expect to spend?

Assuming you already have a 900/1800 Mhz, unlocked GSM cellphone; SIMs are widely available in various denominations at most convenience stores and magazine stands. There are many companies from which to choose: SFR, Orange, and Bouygues and the largest but there are others.

Travel Tips for Cannes
Heading for St Tropez

Best and most accessible jumping off point for St Tropez is the port of Cannes. From here you can be in glitz heaven in a little over an hour.
The Trans Cote d'Azur run in June to October - every day July to September, selected days outside this peak, and at 32 Euro round trip its not cheap, but its the only convenient way in and out of St Trop.
Boat goes out at 9.00 and leaves for the return at 4.30. It does not wait - as we witnessed on our last trip. Two ladies were a few minutes late and the boat sailed off, with them running alongside shouting "Yoohoo!" to no avail. Expensive situation!
Allee des Stars

Around the Palais is the 'Allee des Stars', which is a chain of hand prints of stars in cement slabs. Each square has a set of hand prints plus the stars name etched in.

Cannes port is a very popular tourist spot.Hundreds of boats and luxury yachts moor here every year.I walked along the Allees de la Liberte which was lined with beautiful palm trees and had a fantastic view of the harbour.Walking along the quay was great as i had a delighful view of the hills of Super-Cannes and the 1.5 mile long boulavard de la Croisette.Pretty little buildings line the front painted a mixture of bright colours.When i went here at night to have a drink in one of the many bars and restuarants i found it most romantic as the lights from them reflected in the water of the harbour and it looked very pretty indeed.
I enjoyed just walking along looking at the luxury yachts and dreaming about being rich ;-)
Famous Cannes

Cannes is well known for its Film Festival and being the playground of the rich and famous so it does not need much introduction.
I had the pleasure of going to Cannes many times over the past few years because of work.
We used held our summits there so I was lucky to stay at some of the prestigious hotels :o)
As we are in suits with talkie walkies, most people think we are bodyguards and sometimes we get approached to be asked if someone famous is staying at the hotel. Me bodyguard? That is funny :o)
