A roof OVER your head to go and watch over them
by Pavlik_NL about Hotel Hermitage du Col d'Eze
This hotel is quite close to Eze and offers good rooms and magnificent views towards the sea and into the mountains as well. Eze is at 2 kilomteres distance away and the prices are quite descent. Furthermore the hotel has a swimmingpool.

I would recomand this little hotel to everyone. It has only few (6 I think) rooms so check before for availability. All the rooms are very clean and what was very important during hot summer days that they had air condition.
It is near the entrance of the old city.
The price for double room was very reasonable - 59 €.
There is also a free parking available.
It is on the street, but I don't remember it was noisy. A few houndred meters from the entrance to the beautiful old medieval city Eze.

This place is incredible. It's quite a walk to the hotel, from the bottom of a hill, but well worth it when you do get there. It's perched high on a hill over looking the sea.

It was the first stop of our honeymoon, and Eze was the perfect place. It's a little difficult to get to. You have to park and walk up narrow, twisting streets, but when you get to the top, it's amazing. Eze is an old medevil village overlooking the Med. It's very sleepy, but that only adds to it's charm.

"Eze"
Eze consists of two parts: the seaside beach resort area, and the fortress atop the mountain. At the top of the mountain is a small, old medieval city, and at the very top, an old Roman ruin and views that go for miles along the South coast of France.

On the scenic road between Monano and Nice, there is a small beautiful town called Eze, which is perched on a rocky peak.
At the top of the hill there are gorgeous views from an exotic garden.

Nice to Eze
by BillyBob99
We are arriving by cruiseship next week. We want to start in Nice. I've read that there is bus from Vieux Nice to Eze. Does this bus stop near the top or at the base? On the return is there a bus to Villefranche or is a taxi better? Cost? Are there Taxis waiting or will it be difficult to find one?
Thanks

You'll find Eze shops here;
http://www.webstore.fr/eze/infos/boutiques_eze.htm
There's at least one boulangerie (selling sandwiches too) and epicerie...so you should be able to get enough to eat on your picnic.
Can't help with pleasant spots though, sorry.

Re: shuttle to Eze village

I'm not sure which shuttle you are reffering to, there are shuttles and busses from Nice, Monaco, from Eze sea side to Eze village, too. Some run on Sundays with specific timetables. You can find the schedules on this site http://www.lignedazur.com/index.asp
Ligne 83 is the one for Eze bord de mer (sea side) to Eze Village.
I hope this helps.

I presume you are talking about the shuttle from Eze-sur-Mer to Eze-village (no. 83)? I think the fare is (or was) €1 but I could be wrong.
For timetables try http://www.eze-riviera.com/emotions/deplacement/ang/bus.htm

A shuttle is a mass-transit vehicle dedicated to run quickly back and forth between two points. Sadly nothing meeting this description operates here. The bus referred to is not at all frequent and certainly of little use to anyone short on time. The nearest solution is called a "taxi". This operates by placing large wads of cash in the drivers hands.
