Create your own personal perfume...
by vibi68
This experience is not for people who get headaches with the faintess odor! It has to be one of the most enjoyable experiences of my trip: to create my own perfume... real perfume! not the simili make-it-yourself stuff bought in cardboard box from Coty! Galimard, one the prestigious perfume makers of Grasse offers perfume making stages of 2 to 3 hours. Spend a morning with the specialist "noses", in their perfume lab, creating your own scent, the way you like it. You will learn about "notes de fond", "notes de coeur" and "notes de tete", their families: floral, amber, oriental, musc, herbacious, etc., the quantities to use of each scent, how to mix them, what makes a great perfume, in what proportions... lots of great secrets revealed to you. Moreover, you get to name your perfume and Galimard keeps its recipy on computer files for you to be able to reorder in the future... what you will be creating is a perfume ready to go when the stage is over, but when you reorder you are free to choose from perfume, bubble bath or body lotion of the scent you've created! The stage itself plus 100ml of your creation is the price of a bottle of perfume sold on the international market. Have fun... and prepare your nose, there's a lot to smell!
Cathedral Notre Dame du Puy
by NiceLife
Undergoing major renovation of the exterior. Untypically for some of the lavishly decorated churches elsewhere on the Riviera, the interior is quite sparse and consists of simple bare stonework and a high vaulted ceiling. It looks its age. Which is fair enough as probably I do too.On its walls are three works of Reubens and a Fragonard.
More than perfume - Grasse
by Toshioohsako
"Old Grasse"
Yes, there are more things than simply perfume factories and shops. This place is one of such examples, yet you can find many perfume shop along these old streets. You can satisfy your eyes and nostril at the same time. Seeing is believing and smelling is buying!
"Grasse resturans and cafes"
Thirdly, you can satisfy your appetite here in local delicacy shops and restaurants. Now you have three things satisfied - a nice old town, positively toxic and killing perfume odors and your stomach.
"Perfume seller"
Its practical to walk around and sell perfume and other products in this style. Its a pity, due to internet, this type of salesman/woman ship is getting scarce.

"Nose Flare"
known as the perfume capital of the world, grasse is a short day trip from cannes (15 min drive) or nice (30 min drive). if you're not that interested in perfumes, you can just stroll around the old town's winding streets, and smell the flowers.
