Stay in a medieval hotel
Right at the top of the hill on which the medieval district of Les Arcs stands is a small hotel, Logis du Guetteur.
Logis means 'dwelling' and is used for small, private, usually historic, hotels.
This one is an 11th century castle, which has been renovated to keep its original features but with the comforts of a modern hotel.
There are stunning views over the village and the surrounding countryside, and there's a road leading up to the logis and plenty of parking space.
The rooms look good, there's a swimming pool and a restaurant.
I would imagine that this would be a perfect place for a few days to experience the countryside of Provence.
You can check out the website at Logis du Guetteur
