Cultivated fields
Agriculture in such a rocky soil must be hard, but the way they cultivate around the rocks makes us believe that most of the sold herbs are local production.
Maybe a closed economy, in a secluded village.

It is a beautiful village view of Baux. It stirs up your romanticism and dream. The twilight time is particularly beautiful here. Baux-de-Prtovence is a must place when you are visiting Provence region. You will miss something important if you don't!
You can have a panorama view of the area from the top of Baux Fort village. You feel great, open and refreshed!
Baux fort was an important historical place. I have never seen such former battle field remains so enchanting and beautiful as those you can see in Baux. The past glory, ambitions and battles of ancient combatants seem to have been silenced and beautified by the lapse of time in history.
I visited Les Baux by accident. I was dining in Salon de Provence, and, talking with the restaurant's maid she asked me if I had seen Les Baux. I said no, and she advised me to go back a few kilometers and see it. I did! And it was a good idea, because it is an interesting place, with a calm and healthy ambiance.
what a fantastic day. les baux is an old medieval village high in the mountains. you drive up the mountains and all of a sudden the village appears round a bend. it is amazing. the streets are really old and windy. unfortunately, it was just crammed with tourists, but the views are amazing.
He's French, lives relatively close, and had never been here. One of his friends kept insisting that Les Baux was a must-see. It's like Mont St. Michel in the sense that when you approach from the road, you have to get out and take pictures as soon as you see it taking form. It was really cold and windy, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. He said that we can stay there the next time.
