amazing experience
For a student of architecture....staying at this building is a must!
For the rest of us....staying at this building is a must!
If you are heading to Marseille, this is the place to stay.
& definitely book a table for dinner!
I can't describe the culinary experience, just know that La Menu (35-40 euro, 3 course) is absolutely worth the price!
Unique Quality: It's a Corbusier!

La Cité Radieuse
The hotel has new owners for 2 years who are trying to renovate in the original style.
Rooms: Cabine (picture) of 16 square meter, with shower and shared WC (2 cabins) - 50 EUR, or room of 32 sq meter or more, 80 or 90 EUR (see website).
Restaurant (breakfast 8 EUR, lunch, supper 12 EUR, meal decided each day).
The top of the building is used for sport (musculation, gymnasium, jogging on the roof, sauna, tennis) (see further description in general tips ("Cité Radieuse")).

The practical way of life in a cube
A must for the fans of the architect Le Corbusier! Cultural overnight is also possible for the budget traveller : it is possible to have a small double room for 50 euros.

An architectural must see
I have been in Hôtel Le Corbusier in December 2005. It is convieniently situated if you have a car : you can park on the parking lot of the "Cité Radieuse" and take the metro to go to the city center, 500m away.
The rooms are wide and quiet. You can choose either a standard hotel room or an apartment where everything has been kept how it was in the beginning, with the kitchen (not for use but only for display).
Unique Quality: As I have written in my "out of the beaten path" tip, the building "La cité Radieuse" was designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier and going to this hotel allows to see it from inside ! They have kept the rooms as they were at the beginning.
This hotel is for those interested in architecture and especially in Le Corbusier ! The manager and his wife are passionate for Le Corbusier and ready to talk about him and his achievements.
