A soothing, polished family-run hotel
The staff at this family-run hotel were gorgeous people. and the hotel was great value given its location and facilities, which include a small gym, jacuzi and sun deck on the top floor. Being right on the main drag in front of the beach, the view from the balconies of the upper floors is sublime. The mini bar was very reasonably priced, making sunset drinks on the balcony very relaxing. Free newspapers are available in the foyer lounge, there is a bar next to this, and a full and satisfying buffet breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the street and beach. The rooms are not cramped, and the airconditioning works. Our bathroom had two basins and a good sized bath/shower with a fold-out glass door that avoided the floor-splashing that we found was unavoidable in many other French hotels. We had a great time in Menton, but this hotel sealed the experience for us very pleasantly.
Unique Quality: Views of sunrise over the Mediterranean are brilliant from the balcony of the upper rooms, but nothing beats a late afternoon layabout in the sun deck on the top floor followed by a soak in the jacuzi, from where you can order drinks from a telephone mounted on the wall.
