WORST HOTEL !
by TripAdvisor Member nanababybean
I have been to many hotels around the world and i must say this was the worst hotel, that i have ever had the misfortune to stay at.
Our room smelt of urine, the balcony, if that is what one could call it, was minute, which looked on to a very noisy street
The bed springs hurt our backs, not even sure the bed sheets were even changed ??
The breakfast, was disgusting
The staff were not friendly,
We had booked for 4 days, we left our suitcases in our room, stayed away till the last day. We decided to stay in Juan-les-Pins, which was lovely, we came back on the 4th Day to pick up our suitcases !
Dont waste your money.
Great location! Fantastic and helpful staff!

Hotel is centrally located in Nice's shopping district, which the road is currently under construction, they expecting finish by next year. Noise was not a problem. Easy walking distance to Vieux Nice. Staff was incredibly helpful with arranging tours and providing advice. Room was a touch slanted as the construction nearby has affected the foundations which we were told are regularly monitored by engineers. Rooms are small, bathroom is standard size but you arent there to stay in your room, so the amenities provided are ample! Would stay here again, thank you to all the reception staff for a wonderful stay!
new carpets, qiuet room new york hotel is fantastic value
by TripAdvisor Member harryfromdorset
Just returned from another trip to NIce. Last time, told you about a really terrible place, Nice Citea Acropolis and how it didnt match up to Best Western hotel Nautica and was a dismal dump. So this time decided on Best Western New York Hotel as Nautica not available. Read some dreadful reviews on this site, so was a bit wary. Chose it on price, 4 nights for price of 3 ,paid £173 via Hotelopia.com includes breakfast.(Remember, some hotels charge extra for breakfast 11 or 12 euros each that would have been an extra 96 euros for us).It was nothing like the terrible reviews. EVERY one of the staff were friendly and smiley (it was December though, they need us). The cleaning was fantastic, room small but wonderfully hot and had a balcony with fab view of the castle(Rm405), breakfast OK for price altho t and coffee out of machine not proper tea.Slept like a log.Top tip:take a travel kettle for room, we always do.2nd tip: if u fed up eating out every night and you are vegetarian go to Arcane Bio opposite the hotel and get a hot takeaway meal to take back to your room, oops! NEW CARPETS BEING FITTED NOW for all u carpet moaners. Very quiet even though just round corner from main shopping street Jean Medecin. Great for a December break and Nice is beautiful as ever, relaxed ,friendly, sunny and warm. Can't say what this hotel will be like in August though, but we were very pleased and if it keeps up the special offers its a fantastic deal. The trams are running now, like the buses only 1.3 euros any journey. And the Christmas lights are classy especially those at Massena Square.Go, come back recharged, for less than one night in London!
Excellent Nice, France hotel
by TripAdvisor Member roamingprofessor
We stayed (myself and two teenage grandchildren) for two nights. The hotel is centrally located. Service was very good; price was reasonable; room was spacious. Price of room included continental breakfast (however, when we were leaving I noticed on the bill that we had been charged for the breakfast . - I showed the desk clerk the Best Western book which said that breakfast was included. The cost was for the breakfast was then removed.) When I needed to access the internet, the clerk steered me to a nearby internet cafe where I was able to access the internet for only 2 Euros per hour - much less than the hotel rate. We enjoyed our stay here very much.
Not flash but comfortable

Easy location from the train station and beach. Friendly staff, fluent in English and very helpful when it comes to local attractions, directions and organising transfers, tours, etc. Being a Best Western hotel the room was clean and comfortable; bathroom facilities were nothing special but all we needed. We had no view to speak of or a hotel pool but with the beach only a 10 min stroll, we didn’t care. Lafyette Sqaure Restaurant is close by and a great local brasserie for local cuisine as well as French/Italian and International favourites. We would stay here again.
Nice is Small - Stay anywhere is fine
by TripAdvisor Member jatins
1) Nice Centre is very small. You can stay anywhere you want for the price you want. According to me this hotel was over-priced (may be i booked it a lil late but not very late also)
2) 8 Mins walk from the Nice Ville Station
3) 15 Mins walk from the Bus Stop for Buses that go to Cannes & Monaco
4) Hotel is located on the main street so you have lot of options for food, drinks & shopping
5) Rooms were very good with good bathroom
6) Very good staff who were very helpful and helpful @ 5am in the morning also
7) Breakfast is European. Good but not for my taste-bus which like American B/fast
8) May be for lesser price, could have got some other hotel
9) Without doubts, hotel was truly neat, clean and perfect...
Wonderful hotel great marathon
by TripAdvisor Member edthehorse
We went to the New York Hotel in nice for the nice to cannes marathon. It was perfect, the hotel was right across the road from a monoprix shop where we got all our food and wine, and sat on the balcony and watched the world go by!
The hotel is not too small but very clean, rooms are of a good size for 2 people, and the position is brilliant.
Highly recommend, oh and the recepion girls are very helpfull.
Good value and convenient location
by TripAdvisor Member gapchris
Booked the hotel for a group trip and they were ery accommodating to the last minute changes in the number of rooms required that often happen with large trips.
Hotel is in a convenient central location and was clean. Some rooms were small and others large - did cause some tension in group, but not a major issue.
The breakfast was basic, but in-line with what you would normally expect in Continental Europe. The receptionist was a little surly, but helpful.
a good 3-star hotel with fabulous location
by TripAdvisor Member JustBrr
Overall very much enjoyed our stay of 7 nights. Hotel is fairly well maintained and staff are very helpful - helped us out with bus routes and helped us get extra sheets when we stained one of ours. Great service. Wallpaper in our room had some blemishes, a bit of wear on the bedding, but rooms still very nicely appointed and comfortable (definitely 3-star level).
Hotel is EXTREMELLY well located- 7 minute walk to train station and about 15 min walk to central bus station. Airport is a 20 minute taxi ride away - about 35 minutes by bus from the airport. The sea-front promenade and Le Chateau (a hill with lovely views) a very comfortable 20 minute walk. Large grocery store across the street from hotel (Monoprix) - highly recommend purchasing a sample of some of the wonderful French cheeses, pate, and a baguette for supper :). The balconies are nice and the housekeeping very good- room was always very clean. Breakfast too expensive, definitely try the Monoprix instead.
