Very nice hotel just a few blocks from the beach. We had a balcony that overlooked the street below which happened to be one of those narrow side streets off of the Main Boulevard. As far as European standards, it was excellent.
Unique Quality: Great view of the street and the sunrise from the balcony was amazing.
Directions: Short walk to the beach and shops.
Hello - We would like to find a nice hotel around Nice for about $135/night. Any suggestions? I have tried to surf the net but you never know what you are getting by just reading their descriptions. We don't have a car so need to be centrally located. Thanks!
Hello, I almost stayed at this Meridien last summer but opted for a smaller hotel in VillaFranche sur-mer instead.

It's right at the center of the promenade and accross the street from the beach. I walked by it while strolling along in Nice. The lowest rate they have for a room is around 140 euro per night. Meridien's are class hotels with great service.

Was just in Nice during January 2004 and discovered a nice centrally located three star hotel called Hotel Aria. This is a classic older hotel that has been fully renovated. The staff is friendly and helpful. WiFi is available in the lobby for a fee. The off season price for a Superior Room is around US $90 and the high season price of around $130. For those with a car there is an underground parking structure (Mozart) across the street, as parking is very difficult in Nice. Hotel is around 6 -10 short blocks to the Promenade des Anglais and very conventient to the Old City walking areas. Address is 15, Avenue Auber - 06000 Nice.

Stayed at the Hotel Busby Aug 2003. About a 10 min walk from the train station and 5 min walk from the beach. Price was about $150 US.
