Campanile hotel
Im considering staying at the Campanile Hotel in mid October. Does anyone have any experiences re this hotel ?

Hi. Are you talking about the Campanile near the Nice airport? We haven't stayed there but it looks fine. We have stayed in Campaniles in many places in France. They are clean and have private bathrooms. There will be a decent restaurant and a good breakfast buffet available. You don't say where you are from so it's hard to make comparisons. If you are from the US, the Campanile chain would compare to Motel 6 or Hampton Inn sort of places. Just don't expect a quaint French hotel-inn. It's a commercial hotel.
The Campaniles are usually near a major highway or airport. The airport Campanile in Nice is much larger than most Campaniles but that's because it's near the airport. It certainly is convenient to the airport!

Thanks for your reply. I would have given more details if Id known that there was two similiar sounding hotels. The one Im interested in is the Campanile Hotel Nice Centre Acropolis. Sorry to confuse everyone. Im from Australia (the dark horse in the world cup)

Hi. I just checked the web site for your hotel. It looks like a pretty typical Campanile. It also looks pretty well located. The bus system in Nice is excellent. To me, at least, Campanile, while not a quaint French hotel, is clean, modern and well run, usually a good value for money. I think you'll be just fine there.
If you want to look at other Nice hotels, type NiceLife into your VT search window above and do a Member search. NiceLife spends a lot of time in Nice and has an excellent Nice Travel Page here in VT. It is certainly worth checking. He has hotels Tips, transportation Tips and lots of excellent places to visit in Nice and the area. I think you'd learn a lot from his Travel Page on Nice.
