Nice long stay
I spent two weeks in Nice this October. The accommodation was a clean, well equipped studio with enough amenities for the stay. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. My studio was on the back side of the building so there was no extraneous street noise. My only misgiving was the not-so-comfortable foldout sofa bed. This would not stop me from recommending the Aparthotel for long term visits to the area.
There are a few marche nearby to stock up on any necessary food items and almost any simple meal can be prepared from the stocked kitchenette plus an abundance of eateries are nearby.
Unique Quality: Once again, the front desk staff was very polite and friendly. I arrived early on a Sunday morning and they proceeded to go ahead and check me in which was a relief after a very long and tedious flight from JFK.
The studio was very clean and everything worked. The cable TV has an assortment of channels (CNN, BBC, DeuscheWelle, TVE, etc.).

Apartment in Nice
Hello! We are going to Nice in early October and we're trying to find an apartment in central Nice. Does anyone know about a good and unexpensive aparthotel in central Nice? I've seen some; Residence Regency, Nice Fleurs, Residence Lamartine and some more, but I don't know how good or central they are. We've also tried to search for privat apartments, but it's a little bit difficult because we found "nice apartments" all over the world:)

Citadines Apparthotels at 21 Rue Meyerbeer, just off the Promenade des Anglais and close to Nice centre.They look the business - I have noticed as I walk by - seem clean modern and professional. They all market through the internet so you will eventually have to go through some sort of intermediary.

Is just one I found.
Other residences you mention - I have no personal knowledge but you need to be cautious of "residences" - there is a fair amount of "social placement" used by local authorities in Nice - not recommended!
When searching the internet for aspects of Nice, add the abbreviation "Nice Fr" to avoid a lot of the "nice" places.Google page rank system is smart enough to recognize your interest is France.
