Visiting 'L'?glise Russe' (Russian Church)

by Elainehead

Closed during the Divine Office.

Spring/Fall: Open from 9h15 AM to Midday and from 2h30 PM to 5h30 PM

Summer: Open from 9 AM to Midday and from 2h30 PM to 6 PM

Winter: Open from 9h30 AM to Midday and from 2h30 PM to 5 PM

Admission: 2, 50 Euros

NO cameras allowed inside.

At the time I visited it, there were explanatory sheets (rigid plastic) available in French, English (probably other languages as well). You can take one sheet and start your own tour inside the Church.

Before I leave the place, I lit a candle, put it near other candles and prayed. The candle is NOT free. You need to pay something.

You can buy postcards, books and souvenirs from the Russian Church at the exit (still inside the Church).

HOW TO GET THERE:
The Russian Church is close to the main train station in Nice. For directions, view the second photo.

Wanna hear the church bells? The bells toll every Sunday morning (around 10 AM) or all the week (almost every hour, I think) preceding Easter and Assumption Day.

Adaptor for electric plugs

by jetsetjunkie

If you're coming from UK or the ex-colonies, an adaptor to fit your typically three-pin plugs to the European standard of two-pin sockets are absolutely necessary. Unless of course, you want to undo your electronic leash by not being able to charge your mobile!

Le Parc Floral Phoenix

by holligolytly

Le Parc Floral Phoenix at 405, Promenade des Anglais: This happens to be one of the largest greenhouses in Europe, but many people miss it because is located right by the aéroport and quite a hike up the boardwalk from Centre Ville. But in my opinion it is well worth it! The greenhouse it so neat the way it is divided into the different temperature zones of the world. My favorite is the room with all the beautiful papillons (butterflies).

We will rock you!

by Elainehead about Hit Import

Small but you may find what you need in here (not only rock music but also other kinds of music). They sell CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rarities and/or local bands, musicians CDs. You may pay less than buying at Fnac or Virgin Megastore.
