Nice churches in Nice

by bisous333

Hello Nice locals / visitors:

Please could you let me know if you know any churches that are:
- within easy access to an international airport (max 1h30 mins travel)
- picturesque, with a minister / priest that can speak English
- with hotels / apartments / gites to rent nearby
- which has a great natural landscape view outside
- good transportation(public and private) available in the area

Thank you so much in advance!

There are two international churches in the Nice area (both within 20 minutes of the airport). The International Church of Saint Paul is located in the Centre Commercial Saint Claire just outside the historic city of Saint Paul de Vence. It has services at 10:45 on Sunday mornings. Bus 400 runs there from Nice Gare Routier. The International Church of Nice meets on Sunday evenings at 6:30 at the corner of Rue Vernier and Villeneuve. It is three blocks west of Jean Medecin (where the tram runs)on the southwestern corner of that intersection. If you need momre information you can email the pastor (James Arnold) at jarnoldjr@gmail.com . I hope this helps.

Travel Tips for Nice

This is a picture taken from...

by Barbara2

This is a picture taken from the train as we travel along the French Riviera approaching Nice. Coming from Carcassonne, we made the unfortunate mistake of no reservations. It hadn't been a problem until now. We were to pass through Marsailles - the site of one of the first matches of the 1998 World Cup Soccer. The train was standing room only and the air conditioning had failed. We were playing musical chairs with the empty reserved seats until we stopped in Marsailles, then more seats became available and we were able to relax and enjoy the scenery until our arrival in Nice.
Please excuse the reflections, this was taken through the train window.

Village de Noël - Christmas Village

by Elainehead

You will only see this Christmas Village with ice-rink, food stands, etc at Place Masséna in December.

What's the fun here? Ice-skating (even though I didn't try it) with other kids, or eat gauffres (waffles, 2, 50 Euros), crêpes (2 Euros), barbapapa (cotton-candy), churros (10 = 3 Euros, 10 + Nutella = 3, 50 Euros), popcorn, etc...

Address: Place Massena (when? At the end of December). Seeing my hubby eating his gauffre... It was hilarious!!!

Packing List

by sandravdp

Suitcase or backpack (more handy when you go tracking or camping). Dress lightly from may till the end of august. It can be very hot here. 35 degrees Celcius is normal here. Bring alone a good set of walking shoes and some slippers too. Mosquitobites are easy to get here, so bring along some anti-mosquitocream or spray. Also bring along strong suncream or else you will get sunburnt. Film and development is available here. The quality is good. Camping is possible. See the accomodationtips on this page.

Day trip to Antibes

by Nice2004

Take the train from the main station at Nice west bound along the coast to Antibes, about 15 minutes away. Here you can visit the marina full of beautiful expensive yachts. There is also a pretty old town to wander through. They also have a regular provencal market in the town selling local produce. You can also walk around the ramparts of the old town which run along the sea. Lastly perhaps a visit to the Picasso Museum.

Nice fashion clothes

by ange_famine about TEN

Okay, this is virtually impossible to Google (TEN) so you will not be able to have a look online before you go.
TEN is a women's clothes shop on two levels under the arcades of the Place Massena.
Several members of staff work there and they are more than eager to help you chose and try your items. I've been buying there for a few years. The ground floor holds fashion clothes but the first floor is often reduced priced items and I've found really good bargain clothes there, as I dress goth or dark gypsy.
Don't let that deter you. At the moment they stock wonderful furs (fake and real), flowing skirts, jean jackets, etc etc at a very acceptable price. Average to very expensive for the few luxury items
