A Nice Hotel in Nice

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 1, 2005

The Hotel offered me with a Nice Carnival package at a cost of 410 euro for 2 person staying for 2 night including bueffet breakfast, which included tickets for 2 parade (which cost 100 euro already), 1 dinner at a famous local resturant (which cost 35 euro per person) and 1 drink at the casino. The service of the Hotel is excellent, the room is clean and comfort and have a samll balcony. Free internet services is available at the lobby or you could use your own PC with wireless LAN.
I would recommend you to stay in Hotel Massena.

Unique Quality: The decortaion of the room is stylish.

Having researched lots of hotels in Nice (and read some very variable reviews), we concluded that the only way we could be sure to get a nice comfortable room was to go for a top-range room in an upper-middle range hotel (rather than a standard room in a top range hotel). The Masséna looked very nice, and they were offering a special Spring rate of €120 on their de-luxe "privilege" rooms (usually €145 in the winter season).

The hotel is a typical Nice "belle epoque" building, with a reasonably sized lobby, and nicely decorated. The room was OK, but fairly small, and hardly "de-luxe" (also, the bed was very short). We would normally expect better than this for €120 a night (not including breakfast), but it does seem that this is pretty standard for Nice. We are glad that we didn't go for a cheaper room!

The hotel has a very good central location, one block from the Place Massena, and only a couple of minutes walk from the old town. The seafront is no more than a 5 minute walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

Unique Quality: Very central location.

Excellent Hotel. Right next to the Old city, very close to the ocean.
My rate in May 2000 was amazing, due to low Euro at the time - $74 for a double room (2 people) in a 4-star hotel.

Unique Quality: Roof Top Restaurant.

A wonderful location in Nice

It was very pleasant. The Priviledge room was comfortable with a nice table and chairs. It also had a plastic tea kettle to heat water. This was useful as I had to take tinctures for my cold and needed some hot water.

Unique Quality: The location cannot be beat.
It is close to everything, including my favorite restaurant.
