We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and was NOT pleased. It is in a good location (right off the centre in Old Nice, 10 minutes from the Flower Market), but in bad condition and the rooms were TERRIBLE!
The bathroom was EXTREMELY small (the shower and bathroom was all one room, EVERYTHING got very wet) and the air conditioning did not work. The front staff was somewhat rude and did not bring up additional towels upon 5 phone calls.
I would not go back to Nice regardless, as we felt it was very dirty and the construction was unbearable, but if I did, I would stay at the Hotel Negresco, as it looked very nice. We paid $70 for our small and dank room - I guess this is a lesson in "you get what you pay for!"
I apologize for not having any pictures, but my digital card was destroyed while there, so they are all lost!

This family-run hotel was very clean, with high-ceilinged rooms, and the price was right.
Unique Quality: Located right in the heart of downtown Nice, the location can't be beat. Although it was near some very busy streets, just closing the window shutters made it reasonably quiet.
The Hotel Crillon is a two star family run hotel situated in Rue Pastorelli just off the main shopping street, the Avenue Jean Medecin, a short walk from everywhere.
The High season rate is just 50 euro a night (check on line for most uptodate prices), which for its location is really good value. The accommodation is clean and basic, which is what you should be looking for at this price, and the neighbourhood is central, safe and secure - unlike the dodgy railway terminus area. I occasionally put family up here myself, so the recommendation is personal, but I emphasise it is basic. If you want comforts of home and fourstar service at two star prices, you won't find it.
Parking can be organised via the Nice Etoiles a short distance away, and the joys of WiFi have just been added
(If your budget will stretch a little more and you want to go up a level to three star have a look at Le Vendome, which is just 50 yards futher up the road. Also from personal experience, for fussier members of family)

You dont want a bus to outside the hotel, what with the oneway system and tramworks its too complicated. Aim to get close via the Airport bus, to either the train station or Albert 1er gardens/ Le Meridien. You'll see why when you get there. Its just a short walk.
