Comte de Nice Hotel: Extremely stuffy
I stayed for five nights in a triple room on the fourth floor in August of Comte de Nice Hotel. The room was small and the bathroom was extremely cramped. But the real problem was that the building was preheated much during the day and the room was extremely stuffy, airless. We could not sleep. Even a fan switched at night did not help much. Also, my bed was too short. I think if someone wants to stay there, good localisation, you should rent a studio in the ground floor.

Le Florida: Cheap place - expensive location
This is about Le Florida at avenue Jean Médecin, not to be mixed up with Hotel Florida at Cimiez!
The place is actually not a hotel, but 'chambre meublées' - rooms with furniture, a kitchen corner and sort of a bathroom.
The rooms are on the 3rd floor, there is even a balcony opening into the avenue.
No Internet site, only two phone numbers, and both appear to be mobiles.
There is another lodging right in the same house, above this one, even more modest - on the fourth floor, therefore no balcony, but with a proud name of
The main asset is of course the location - the centre of the centre; the main avenue, the famous Galeries Lafayette in two steps, the no less known McDonald's in one step, pharmacy - the same block, newsstand - around the corner.
And the beach within five minutes' walk.

'Aristocrate': Furnished rooms
This lodging house is located in the same building as Le Florida - unusually favourable, that is, for such a modest place.
Be sure you have strong legs to get to the 4th floor.
No Internet site, only phone.
Location, location, and location again

Hotel Rosetti: Unexpected Old Town Gem
You would not believe this modest grey door leads to a very chic hotel!
'Rosetti', as you can guess, is located exactly in Rosetti square with its splendid Sainte Réparate Cathedral and no less well-known Fenoccio ice-cream cafe. (Although I prefer Azzura, especially as it's in the same building)
For all the ancient surroundings, the interior is quite modern - they even have running water!
Don't worry about safety - that little door is actually enforced and has a coded lock.

Vieux Nice Apartment: Artist's apartment
I recommend to stay in vacation apartment more than in hotel in France. Let's see my recommendaiton:
- more space (large white L -shaped leather sofa),
- LCD TV with many TV channels
- LCD monitor computer and free internet
- big refrigerator to put food from supermarket
- kitchen and equipment for cooking
- dish washing machine
- clothes washing machine in toilet
It's a real French life experience, home feel
Artist's home, seems enter into an Art world. Location is easy going to ville centre, restaurants, shopping, tramway.

Hôtel Goldstar: A suite hotel
We spent five (5) nights in the Hôtel Goldstar, touring and walking around Nice with a day–trip to Monaco.
The Goldstar is four blocks from the beach. Its suites are without views, but nicely furnished. The "Consul" suites, one of four types, have a bedroom and sitting room (which may be closed off), a small kitchen, a bath and a separate room for the commode.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Promenade des Anglais, a pedestrian shopping mall, and many decent restaurants.
Reception clerks speak English and the entire staff is friendly and helpful.
There is ample underground parking at the hotel.
There's a partially enclosed swimming pool on the roof, with chaise lounges for enjoying the Mediterranean sun. The hotel also has a well-equipped exercise room.
There's no restaurant, but an ample breakfast is served on the 6th floor -- at an exorbitant cost of 20€ (US$24) per person.
Uniquely, among the hotels we stayed in during this visit, there is no injunction against smoking in the suites -- but only a request that one not smoke in "public areas." There was an ashtray in our suite.
Room service is available 24/7. Its cost is high: 74€ (US$89) for two plates of pasta and soft drinks.
There's an in-rom safe plus abundant closet space.
There's free wifi throughout the hotel as well as a high-speed computer, also free, in the small business center area.
