Does anyone have any recommendations for accomodation in Nice for 2 nights stopover on the way to Rome.
I dont know if you are willing to stay in hostels but there are several down by the beach and within a quick bus ride from the airport. I stayed at the Hotel Meyerbeer Beach.. but it is dorm style.. so if you do not want to share a room with strangers.. do not stay here!
Now, naughty, you did't mention your budget.
Starting cheap and cheerful but clean safe and central 2 star - The Crillon, Rue Pastorelli
Up a notch - also Rue Pastorelli - the Vendome - three star with french character also safe central and good value
Both listed on my accommodation tips for Nice with details,
We haven't stayed there yet but we have reservations at MERCURE Nice Marché aux Fleurs for September. It is right across the street from the beach at a fraction of the price of the other hotels near the beach. The hotel has some decent reveiws on Trip Advisor. It was 30euro extra for a room facing the beach.
You're right Andrew I didn't state what level of accomodation I required.
I am new to this site and am in awe of the opportunities it provides.
As I learn the ropes I hope to make the most of it, however it seems like you know Nice like the back of your hand so I will take some of your recommendations. I love your site.
Thankyou to you all for your input it is much appreciated.
