Helpfulness
Closed for renovation, charged us for not staying!
We are world travelers and had the opportunity to stay at Hotel National in Nice, France, or so we thought.
The hotel in review:
Hotel National
64, avenue J.-Médecin
Nice, France 06000
On March 10, 2005, Hotel National informed us that due to renovation that the Hotel National would be closed for the date we chose:
"We would like to inform you that due to renovation, Hotel National will be closed for those dates."
Hotel National had our credit card# on file, but no charge or deposit was required. However, after informing us that the Hotel National would be closed for the date I requested, this Hotel National then
illegally charged our credit card $65.44 ($US).
Tourists should be cautious of a hotel not adhering to ethical business practices. We believe the Hotel National is very irreponsible to make illegal credit card charges. We've had a terrible experience with them.
Unique Quality: Closed for renovation, but will accept your reservation and then charge your credit card for not staying at a closed hotel.
