Novotel Nice Centre..what a misleading name
Trust me...this name is TRULY misleading.
You are almost on the edge of the tourist area. It's ok if you want to stay close by to the congressarea, but even so I suggest staying nearer to the oldtown of nice. IMO that's the center of nice. Only reason for the name...because it's simply the closest Novotel to the center. But that's a rotten excuse.
You can walk to the beach/oldtown....but it's quite a hike and in the heart of summer. UNBEARABLE.
But the biggest downside is that this area is really unsafe. When you drive from the beach area to this area..there is actually a sign warning drivers to hide valuables, close the windows and lock the doors. At night this area is actually pretty dead..and when I was there there was a congress.
When the congress ended a couple of the members were mugged or got scammed/conned.
The pool at the top of the floor was rather small and i guess it was late in the season...really dirty.
There's a big shopping center/supermarket within easy walking distance from teh hotel and that's a nice plus.
Also there's a closed parking space closeby...even though walking there and coming back is scary as hell.
Unique Quality: Close by the fair/congress centers. Close by publictransport. Close by to big supermarket.
There's small pool on top.
Pretty far to the beach and the old town. Unsafe area.Almost ghettolike.
Not a lot of restaurants in teh neighbourhood.

Novotel Nice Centre
Nice rooms, neglected cleaning, very sparse breakfast (buffet) selection.
Waling 20 min to the beach, few minutes to tourist traps.
Unique Quality: Hotel has a pool on the top of the building.
